Het selftitled debuutalbum ‘Wet Leg’ van het uit Isle of Wight afkomstige duo Rhian Teasdale en Hester Chambers verschijnt op Domino Records. Het is bevrijdend en vrolijk, punk en schunnig, maar vooral leuk.

Het album is opgenomen en geproduceerd by Speedy Wunderground’s Dan Carey (‘Chaise Longue’ en ‘Angelica’ zijn geproduceerd door Jon McMullen en Josh Mobaraki). De opnames vonden voornamelijk plaats in Londen, in april 2021, wat betekend dat het album al klaar was voordat de wereld debuutsingle ‘Chaise Longue’ heeft gehoord of live is gespeeld.

"Wet Leg was originally just supposed to be funny," aldus Rhian. "As a woman, there's so much put on you, in that your only value is how pretty or cool you look. But we want to be goofy and a little bit rude. We want to write songs that people can dance to. And we want people to have a good time, even if that might not possible all of the time."

Vanaf het begin van Wet Leg ging het Teasdale en Chambers vooral om het plezier en een droog gevoel voor humor die op het hele album te horen is. "I wanted to write fun songs, I didn't want to indulge sad feelings too much, I wanted to write stuff that's fun to listen to and fun to play,” zegt Rhian. “But then, the sad seeps through, as well."
